Description

Medline Industries has an established accelerated Distribution Management training program. The primary purpose of this role is to develop candidates who want a fast track into a Warehouse Manager or Branch Manager position at Medline. We are seeking dynamic, hard-working professionals with a solid education and background in operations and a desire to work for a fast-pace organization. In addition to exceptional leadership and analytical skills, you must have a "roll-up your sleeves" attitude.

The Branch Manager in Training gains exposure to all facets of running a Medline Distribution Center. Learning will include the following:
Operational Excellence – Establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current and accurate. Lead and measure daily processes to ensure order fulfillment and production are completed on a daily basis. Partner with Director of Operations to resolve daily challenges and ensure timely and accurate completion or order fulfillment. As required by state, adhere to and manage all transactions as the CDR (Certified Designated Representative) and be responsible for ensuring accurate procedures and recordkeeping and to ensure Medline is compliant with the State of Florida's "Pharmacy Practice Act" administrative rule.
Human Resource Management – Support human resource processes at local facility. Create a culture promoting positive employee relations and eliminates the need for third party intervention.
Expense Management – Partner with Director to support and oversee daily and ongoing expenses to ensure financial capital is used efficiently. Understand and analyze the P&L on a daily, weekly and monthly basis to ensure financial commitments and goals are achieved.
Inventory Management – Become skilled at utilizing all systems, processes and tools to ensure inventory is accurate and reduce inventory loss due to poor methods.
Sales Support – Partner with management team to support local sales representatives and sales leadership to deliver outstanding customer service. Support current business by providing timely responses to service failures and customer concerns. Support the Director of Operations with resolving customer complaints and operational service issues.
Safety and Risk Management – Put the health and safety of team members first. Identify factors in DC or Medtrans environment that may be a safety concern and practice good judgment in controlling risks. Actively participate in safety meetings. Promote corporate safety programs and lead DC team to success.
Medtrans Transportation – Support daily Medtrans delivery and team members to ensure outstanding customer service, timely delivers, safety and security of the operations and positive employee relations with team members. Maintain fleet and compile with all Department of Transportation regulations.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred or related work experience of 3-5 years with 3-5 years’ experience leading and supervising others
  • Effective communicator in both group and individual settings
  • Effective writing skills
  • Approachable
  • High sense of urgency; capable of handling multiple priorities and extensive time demands
  • High level of personal integrity
  • Proficient in MS Office; proficiency with SAP and WHS management systems a plus
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts and willingness to operate heavy machinery as necessary
  • Willing to be certified as a CDR “Certified Designated Representative” as necessary
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time during the training period (travel is typically 1 week at a time but on occasion will be for 2 or more weeks at a time). During long periods of travel, travel home over the weekends is acceptable.
  • Willing to relocate
