Reporting to Manager of Windows System, the Data Support and Project Analyst works as an integral member of the Windows Systems Services team in the Network and Data Services (NDS) group at Harvard Law School. The position serves as a 3rd level desktop and applications expert on Windows and Mac desktop operating systems, and enterprise applications support; manages diverse projects, conducts requirement analysis and makes recommendations for upgrades and initiatives through understanding of business processes; and will work closely with ITS Client Services, Technical Support Service, and Development team to provide support and bridge the gap between the groups and NDS.
BA strongly preferred; 3-5 years experience with supporting enterprise applications, understanding desktop and laptop hardware including troubleshooting, installing, and system evaluation preferred.
Advanced knowledge of Windows 7, Windows 2008 Server, and MacOS; VB scripting, PowerShell, Group Policies, MSI packaging, advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 2007/2010, data encryptions and remote control desktop troubleshooting technologies; 2-3 years’ experience with SCCM and Microsoft Sysprep-based system image building and maintenance; TCP/IP based networking, including connectivity troubleshooting, network services such as WINS, DNS, protocols such as Samba, DFS, NFS.
Ability to work in a team environment and mentor junior staff members. Provides exceptional and exemplary customer service to the user community. Regularly follows up with IT management and users to keep them up to date with the progress of their open issues. Provides communication on all escalated issues and documenting progress of assigned incidents. Solid and effective project management experience; advanced problem-solving and decision-making abilities; assertive work style with ability to independently identify and research technical issues; strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
