| Duties Summary: | |
| Participates and supervises the work of a crew of equipment operators and laborers engaged in the construction, repair and maintenance of County roads, bridges, culverts, structures and adjacent areas; keeps work records and makes operational reports; and performs other duties as required. | |

Overall paid or unpaid experience must be of such scope and responsibility as to conclusively demonstrate that you have the ability to perform the duties of the position. Note: Calculation of experience is based on full-time, 40-hour work weeks. Part-time experience must be pro-rated. Example: Twelve months of experience at 20 hours per week is equivalent to six months of experience. In addition, hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week will not be credited. Example: Twelve months of experience at 60 hours per week is equivalent to one year, not one and one-half years. Training and Experience: Experience and/or training of sufficient scope and quality which demonstrated knowledge and competence in the methods, practices, techniques, tools and the operation of construction equipment used in the construction, maintenance and repair of highways, roads or similar surfaces and structures. License Requirements: Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license as applicable to the position. Knowledge of: the methods, materials, tools and equipment used in road construction and maintenance and minor structures; operational and maintenance practices relating to various construction equipment; occupational hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work; principles and practices of supervision. Ability to: plan, lay out, assign and review the work of others; operate and maintain a variety of construction equipment; foresee hazards and take effective measures to eliminate them; make work reports; give and receive oral and written instructions; effectively supervise/deal with employees. | |
