Osseo Area School Schools invites applications for the following position(s):
Program Assistant - School Year (Part-Time-Casual)
Position Type: Community Education
Location: Various Sites
Additional Information: To inspire and prepare all students with the confidence, courage and competence to achieve their dreams; contribute to community; and engage in a lifetime of learning. This position will support student safety, building security, and perform out of school time program processes necessary for each school's after school classes to operate successfully. A key to the success of this position is to build a warm and welcoming environment for children, families and staff.
Job Duties:
• Main site contact for out of school time programs, i.e. check e-mail, phone contact.
• Print and distribute rosters to instructors.
• Check daily program attendance and perform absent student tracking.
• Support instructors; greet, provide rosters, assist with student needs, assist with check-out processes and late pick-up
• Monitor students enrolled in programs in the event that an instructor is late or absent. • Set up and return of program equipment and materials, i.e. file box and forms, badge box, rosters, etc.
• Assure students receive snack
• Greet and provide site admittance to the families who arrive to pick up program participants.
• Assist the site Incident Commander in regards to any after-hours emergencies.
• Insure that the out-of-school time entrance is shut and remains locked.
• For non-program participants, greet & share that the building is open to only program participants.
• Check classrooms for cleanliness and orderliness at the end of the day. Shut down.
• Set up and return of required equipment, i.e. phone, two-way radio, emergency backpack, and other program materials
• Connect with the evening building supervisor for transfer of equipment when applicable.
• Wear district ID
• Act as an ambassador and advocate for OST programs.
• Build positive relationships with families, OST staff, student participants and other school programs that enhance the OST experience and positively support the programs.
• Problem-solve communicate effectively and collaborate on site issues and needs.
• Work under the supervision of and within guidelines, procedures, policies and mission of Osseo Area Schools Community Education Enrichment programs and staff.
• Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
• Knowledge of the mission, core values, and strategies of Osseo Area Schools
• Basic skills and previous experience working with students including behavior management, positive relationship building and transitioning
• Excellent Communication and collaboration skills
• Detailed, resourceful and dependable
• Basic computer and phone skills including Outlook, printing, word processing
• Problem solving, organizing, prioritizing and multi-tasking skills
Salary Range: per Casual Agreement
Elementary Sites: Basswood, Cedar Island, Edinbrook, Elm Creek, Fernbrook, Oak View, Rice Lake, Rush Creek, Weaver Lake, Woodland
