Description of position and work environment
We have an intern position open to assist our studio team with production-based responsibilities, working primarily with the studio, creative, and account teams to prepare art files for internal and client review, oversee projects during proofing, make requested revisions, and prepare final files for release to supplier partners. As a studio artist intern you will have the opportunity to work with a highly skilled team of advertising and marketing professionals working on real assignments, and be able to contribute your skills and creativity to innovative work for a global marketplace. Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the studio artist intern is to assist studio artists with daily tasks, and handle a large volume of ad resizes for magazines and newspapers. In addition, the studio artist intern will have opportunities to work on a variety of print and digital projects.
The studio artist intern must be able to think critically and accurately follow technical specifications to produce files that meet publishers’ requirements. The studio artist intern must be proficient with current technology, be able to communicate effectively, and possess the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following knowledge, skills, and attitude:
- Portfolio demonstrating print and digital production talent and abilities
- Proficient in Adobe CC including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop (experience with Keynote, Microsoft Powerpoint, and Prezi helpful); ability to work cross-platform (Mac and PC), and across devices; enthusiasm for researching new technologies and communication mediums related to our business
- This is a fulltime position (40 hours per week on average); pay is $11 per hour
- Basic understanding of printing and prepress (understanding of marketing and creative helpful)
- Possess enthusiasm, curiosity, passion for improvement, and a desire to do more than is required on every project
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of work
- Possess strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadline driven projects
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in commercial art, advertising design, graphics, or related field
- Fit well into SRG’s culture and interconnected business model
