Job DescriptionApplications accepted only from candidates possessing requirements for Selective Clerical Accounting.
This position will support and assist supervisors and program mangers with distribution and recording of work assignments in the Compliance Services Unit, and assist taxpayers with questions and concerns. He/she will perform specialized clerical duties within the Audit Component database, IRIS mainframe system, and other electronic systems. Additional job duties include: Answer taxpayer telephone calls and route them to the appropriate staff member, assist callers, take messages, and redirect callers to additional resources as needed. Perform as back-up in date stamping and distribution of mail and merging, printing, and mailing of all section correspondence.

In addition this position compiles, organizes, and/or delivers corporation claims, nexus filings, refund claims, sales tax refund claims, motor fuel use claims, construction contract claims, amended filings, no-tax due fiduciary claims, and cigarette and tobacco reports for acceptance and work by the Examination staff. This work may also include filing, collating, sorting, and entering data into a database, identifying errors in the data.


Essential Functions Include: Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, in person, and over the telephone; high level of knowledge of personal computer systems including: Microsoft Office, mainframe applications, and database applications; ability to learn, understand, and apply other computer programs to job duties; ability to work an 8 hour work day 5 days each week; ability to sit for long periods of time; ability to multi-task; ability to focus on details; ability to follow oral and written instructions from multiple supervisors and program managers; ability to function effectively as part of a team; excellence in attention to detail and organization; ability to display flexibility; ability to meet multiple deadlines; ability to deal with difficult people and situations; self management; and ability to set priorities.
Minimum QualificationsExperience equal to three years of full-time clerical or closely related work.
