Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, WI currently has a casual Environmental Services Assistant (Housekeeper) opening. Typical shifts for this position will be between the hours 4:30 AM-4:00 PM.  This position includes an every other weekend and holiday rotation. Apply today to come join our team! 
A Housekeeper is typically assigned to one nursing unit in the hospital. This position will typically be responsible for floating assistance in areas as needed. You will service rooms currently occupied by patients and clean recently discharged rooms. Along with rooms, a Housekeeper will maintain floors, walls, waiting rooms, lights and furniture on the assigned nursing unit. Due to the nature of the facility, Housekeepers are exposed to many areas in the hospital, including TB rooms, offices, waiting rooms, lobbies, clean and soiled utility rooms, hallways, stairwells, Isolation rooms, IORT, Surgery Suites, Cath Lab, Sterile Pharmacy, and LDR & C-Section rooms. Housekeepers will have to collect and dispose of items which may include infectious waste and recyclable products.
Ministry Health Care will be opening a brand new facility in the near future. .

Essential Job Functions:
 
  • Clean rooms such as: Patient rooms, offices, waiting rooms, lobbies, hallways, etc.
  • Maintain floors, including:  dust mopping, wet mopping, vacuuming, carpet spot cleaning, carpet shampooing, polishing, and scrubbing.
  • Wash walls, shampoo furniture, clean ceiling lights while standing on a ladder.
  • Collect and dispose of refuse including infectious waste and recyclable products.
  • Operate floor machines, baler and compactor.
  • Stock supplies such as paper towels, hand soap, toilet paper, etc.
  • Clean and disinfect vertical and horizontal surfaces.
  • Read/recognize labels for cleaning chemicals.
  • Calculate measurements of chemicals used.
  • Read written instructions or comprehend verbal instructions in English.
  • Complete annual safety and competency quizzes.
  • Observe maintenance repair needs on the building and equipment and submit maintenance request forms.
  • Performs all duties and assignments using safety techniques to avoid injury to patients, visitors and employees.
 

Qualifications

 High School diploma or equivalent is preferred

Prior experience in a hospital or other health care environment is highly desirable
