Studsvik, a Swedish based international market leader in nuclear technology and radiological services, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Journeyman at its processing facility in Erwin, TN. This Maintenance Journeyman ensures company equipment and material receives proper care, custody, maintenance and usage.  Maintains machinery and mechanical equipment to ensure effective processing and to minimize down time.  Responsible to participate in the day-to-day maintenance activities of various assets, while ensuring the provision of safe, timely and efficient service.  Operates in a safe manner following applicable policies and procedures. Essential Duties (Additional duties may be assigned.) Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic systems, cranes and hoists; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications. Aligns and adjusts machines and equipment using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometers and plumb bobs.  Operates all crane and forklift systems. Troubleshoots malfunctions and locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments. Removes defective parts by dismantling devices; using hoists, cranes, and hand and power tools.  Examines parts to determine mode of failure.  Rebuilds and/or replaces valves, blowers, pumps and other related plant equipment. Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels and anticipating needed equipment, parts and supplies. Mantains safe and clean working environment by complying with safety and housekeeping procedures, rules and regulations.  Completes entry and closeout of work orders in the Manager Plus program. Other Duties (Additional duties may be assigned.) Assists in coordinating local contractor services. Assists maintenance staff to expedite other projects as required.  Qualifications: Experience working in an industrial setting. Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical maintenance working with pumps, blowers and valves. Strong communication, mechanical, organizational and problem solving skills. Experience with troubleshooting electronics, variable frequency controllers, PLC's, etc. a plus. High school diploma or GED. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
