Job Description:
Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center in Merrill, WI is seekinga casual Radiologic Technologist to work on an as needed basis to cover for staff vacation, medical leave, etc.1. Performs radiographic procedures and demonstrates teamwork by assisting Radiologist with special procedures, demonstrating a thorough knowledge of radiographic positioning and technique.2. Demonstrates a consistent and accurate pattern of appropriately completing charges, documentation and requisitions.3. Completes billing procedures and other clerical duties as applicable.4. Always obtains and examines the requisition for a radiographic examination in order to be aware of information such as procedure requested, patient's condition and any other special notes or comments.5. Transports the patient safely and respectfully on the proper transportation device, receiving the proper "hand-off" information from nursing staff.6. Always demonstrates an awareness of radiation safety procedures for self and others; wears protective clothing and remains behind the protective enclosure during exposures; minimizes radiation exposure to the patient and self.7. Demonstrates the ability to perform work in an accurate and timely manner in periods of crisis and emergency situations when time is critical as a service to the community.8. Regularly checks for new requisitions and strives to complete all procedures as they are requested during the scheduled shift; uses teamwork to coordinate schedule with other technologist to provide for steady work flow.9. Maintains assigned rooms/equipment including inventory, linen and aseptic cleaning.10. Informs the Director of equipment deficiencies. Initiates service, if indicated.11. Demonstrates rotational flexibility in response to unexpected change in work volume, emergencies, staffing or schedule changes.12. Promotes a cohesive environment and interacts effectively and professionally with peers and other personnel, i.e., conflict, positive problem resolution, communication concerns. Assumes other duties as assigned, i.e., students, supplies, inventory, CQI.13. Demonstrates safe working habits and is aware of and adheres to fire, general safety, disaster and infection control policies and procedures. Utilizes ergonomic principles applicable to daily work activities.14. Consistently participates in department Service Excellence activities and hospital wide activities as appropriate. Is able to articulate service excellence standards and related behavioral norms. Consciously attempts to integrate GSHC's service standards into daily work activities.
