Senior Systems Engineer
At MicroPact our goal is to make the working world a better place by developing and implementing BPM and Case Management software to make our clients more efficient.
But we couldn’t do any of that without IT Operations. Our IT Operations department is the glue that holds it all together. If you join our ITOps team, you’ll be working with the servers, networking frameworks, test beds, development platforms and data center that allows us to do what we do best—develop innovative software.
We have an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Engineer who is ready to pitch in and get the job done on the infrastructure side. You’ll take your strong technical support, networking skills and boundless energy to support a mission-critical data center.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
· Deploys, maintains, and supports network infrastructure supporting 160 employees
· Deploys, maintains, and supports a data center serving web based applications to over 200 commercial and government customers
· Supports firewalls, routers, switches and WAPs
· Supports Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Symantec Backup Exec, Linux, FortiGate firewalls and VoIP
· Mentors junior team members and provides leadership on long-term initiatives
· Reviews existing systems, stays current with evolving technologies and techniques, and makes recommendations for improvement
· Strong oral and written communication skills
· Experience deploying and supporting iSCSI SANs
· Represents MicroPact in the most positive manner with prospective, former and current clients, suppliers and the community we serve. Interacts effectively with a diverse group of staff, clients and other customers of our services, learns and uses operating practices of the department and MicroPact.
· Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
Minimum Requirements:
· 4+ years’ experience designing, implementing and supporting Windows and Active Directory networs
· 4+ years’ experience supporting Microsoft Exchange
· 4+ years’ experience implementing and supporting firewalls, switches, VPNS, and routers
· 2+ years’ experience with Linux
· Experience supporting web applications running on Apache in both Linux and Windows environments
· Demonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills
· Experience with FortiGate firewalls preferred
· Experience with Symantec BackupExec preferred
· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
· Extremely strong interpersonal communication skills and a dedication to exceptional customer service
· The ability to work flexible and sometimes fluctuating hours
