Job Description
| Position Summary |
Seattle University has an exciting, dynamic opportunity for a Administrative Assistant to join our community.
Provide administrative support in the College of Education to the two Associate Deans, Director of Marketing and Communications, and Development Officer.
In addition, this position will assist in the daily operations of the College of Education as well as serve as the primary receptionist to the Dean’s office suite. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Research, Online and Professional Learning.

| Essential Job Functions |
Word-processing, data entry, data-base management, report and spreadsheet generation, copying, scanning, and proof-reading.
Support with calendar functions, setup, preparing for and follow-up for meetings, maintains financial records for department(s) including check requisition and financial reports. Coordinate departmental events and meetings. maintains accurate files.
Coordinates with marketing to ensure department website(s) are current.
Attend Staff Council meetings.
Assist adjuncts and visitors with parking passes, etc.
Provide reception and information services for the Dean’s office suite. Interact with students, parents, faculty and visitors in person and on the phone. Provide information upon request to interested students. Respond to questions and refer students and others to appropriate contacts.
Work with university data systems which include Schedule Planner, Datatel, WebNow and ImageNow.

Provide administrative support for assigned projects or committees. Perform other related duties as assigned.

| Minimum Qualifications |
High school diploma and three years administrative office support experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Proficiency in MS Office software such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Access. Experience maintaining a website or the interest and willingness to learn.
Ability to communicate effectively with others in writing, by phone or in person. Excellent customer service skills including the ability to create a warm and welcoming environment and work with diverse populations.
Ability to organize and prioritize and able to perform multiple tasks successfully.

| Preferred Qualifications |
Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience working in a higher education environment and familiarity with university data systems.

| Compensation | Salary starts at $31,000+ annually based on skills and qualifications. |
