Responsibilities We are looking for an experienced buyer who is motivated and results-oriented to join our team of Merchants and drive the Juniors & Kids category to new heights. The ideal candidate will be resourceful, extremely organized and passionate about the off-price space. Develop a thorough understanding of the needs, wants and expectations of the customer Build on an already comprehensive understanding of the marketplace and competitors in the Juniors category Leverage the HauteLook and Nordstrom partnership and your existing relationships in the marketplace to develop new suppliers for the company Build and maintain relationships with existing suppliers and partner to provide optimal scheduling, strategic pricing and style inventory Analyze brand and category prior successes to optimize performance and improve future decision making Strategically negotiate exclusive offerings, terms, pricing, and other terms of business, etc. Partner with Marketing, Planning and Production teams to ensure products are properly merchandised and all pertinent information is included to maximize sale potential Effectively manage and support direct report to develop and meet the needs of the business Review vendor relationship practices and procedures, determine whether improvements can be made and work to implement changes as appropriate     Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required At least 2 years of market experience Experience and existing relationships within the Kids and Juniors market is strongly preferred Ability to design and improve business processes Excellent communication skills both oral and written Candidate should be ambitious, organized, and a self-starter Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment Travel required We’ve got you covered… We offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, vision and dental coverage, a fabulous merchandise discount, an employer-matched 401(k) plan, a profit-sharing plan and much more.
