Advertised Summary Job DescriptionThe Gethealthyheights.org Research Assistant will support the day-to-day operations of the Gethealthyheights webportal, which include but are not limited to (1) organizing and participating in a webportal steering committee to formulate policy and web standards, (2) assisting with research to understand stakeholder needs for new functions within the portal (3) communicating with programmers and developers to translate needs into new portal functions (4) participating in the development of a communication and marketing plan to promote the webportal, (5) maintaining current the information on the webportal, (6) training end-users on webportal functions, (7) troubleshooting problems with the webportal, and (8) serving as a point of contact for end-users. The Research Assistant will also coordinate with the appropriate individuals to ensure the proper functioning of the Gethealthyheights webportal. S/he will also collect data for tracking and evaluation activities.

S/he will perform other related duties as assigned. Occasional early morning, evening and weekend hours required. The position is based in the Irving Institute's Columbia Community Partnership for Health located off-campus in the Washington Heights neighborhood. This is a grant-funded position.  
Minimum Qualifications for Grade
Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant
Requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in public health, social work, information science, computer science or informatics plus two years of related experience.  
Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications

The candidate must have experience with website development, ideally using a Drupal platform, and/or community organizing or research. The position requires excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Knowledge of qualitative research desirable. Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred.
