(A member of the Genesis Biotechnology Group), our mission is to improve the lives of patients through early stage drug discovery research at novel targets and collaborating or partnering our research with pharmaceutical companies to advance our discoveries to medicine. Venenum Biodesign, L.L.C. is looking for a motivated individual to work as a Research Associate in the Structural Biology and Protein Purification group. The successful candidate will contribute to the work of a multi-disciplinary community of scientists, supporting the development of novel therapeutics. Requirements Requirements: • B.S. or M.S. in Biochemistry, Molecular or Cell Biology, or other related field. • Familiarity with recombinant DNA techniques. • Experience in the expression of recombinant proteins in bacterial, insect, yeast, and mammalian cells. • Extensive experience in protein purification including ion exchange, hydrophobic, affinity/immunoaffinity, and size- exclusion chromatographic techniques. Hands-on experience in operating - AKTA chromatography system is required. • Proficiency in basic analytical techniques used for protein characterization (gel electrophoresis, Western blotting, UV/VIS spectrophotometry, etc.). Knowledge of more advanced biophysical methods (SPR, ITC, MALS, mass spectrometry, etc.) is a plus. • Working knowledge of protein crystallography is highly desired.
