| Position involves screening the public as they enter the courthouse/administration complex. |
| Example of Duties: |
| Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities: 1. May be required to use x ray machine, magnetometer and hand held search devices. 2. May be required to search members of the public for contraband or prohibited items. 3. Provides direction to the public to various offices in the building. 4. Reports policy and law violations, and emergencies to the Sheriff's Department. 5. May respond to alarms and report findings to the Sheriff's Department. 5. Maintains effective working relationships with employees and members of the public. Quailifications: 1. Knowledge of basic computer skills. 2. Ability to stand for extended periods of time, and bend while conducting searches with hand-held screening devices. 3. Ability to interact with the public to provide direction related to security procedures. 4. Ability to take direction and follow orders in accordance with quasi-military chain of command. 5. Requires wearing a department-issued uniform shirt and appropriate business casual attire. 6. Ability to work business hours and occassional evenings. |
| Minimum Qualifications: |
| 1. High School Graduation or GED equivalency. 2. Prefer prior criminal justice related experience or training. |
| Supplemental Information: |
| Shifts include: Monday - Friday; days, afternoons and occassional evenings Must be able to work all shifts as needed. |
