We are currently seeking talented Staff Claims Advisorfor our San Antonio, TX facility.
PURPOSE OF JOB
Develops, implements and monitors related P&C policies and strategic and tactical operational business initiatives to manage indemnity, fraud, expense, service, quality and regulatory compliance. Supports P&C senior management (staff and operations) on all P&C initiatives, projects, and operational activities.
JOB DUTIES
Develops and implements assigned projects, policies and business initiatives to ensure consistency of claims service, quality and regulatory compliance. Researches, identifies, and implements changes in existing policies, tools, and work processes. Acts as SME on assigned projects.
Monitors and provides technical claims direction, controls, and expertise to region personnel on issues relating to high risk exposure from an indemnity, fraud, expense, process, or quality perspective. Assists regional personnel as needed in preparation of appropriate documentation. May represent, testify and assist on behalf of USAA at mediations, arbitrations, settlement conferences, trials and pre-trial/trial activities for P&C Litigation cases.
Assesses changes in state and federal legislation and litigation for trends, issues, and precedents impacting claims service and regulatory compliance. Identifies implications and industry positions on emerging trends and issues. Monitors emerging technologies, benchmarks competitors and networks with industry counterparts to identify issues impacting claims service and expense.
May assist Procurement in the identification, recruitment, screening and selection of contracted vendors. Supervises vendor contract compliance and provides periodic reports on contract performance.
Partners to create and execute claims related training programs.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors Degree or High School Diploma & 5 years of insurance industry experience may be considered in lieu of Bachelors degree.
5+ years P&C insurance industry or Claims functional work experience.
Computer literate in a Windows operating environment.
Working knowledge of relevant MicroSoft Office applications.
Familiarity with or commitment to pursue Lean Six Sigma certification.
Preferred
Frontline MSRs with strong IT/Computer Science, Communications, Process Engineering, or Analytical Designation or Bachelor's Degree.
3+ years prior experience as an Auto Injury Adjustor or Auto Claims Manager Claims experience in utilizing conflict management skills, decision making skills and self-directed skills.
Proven experience and knowledge in P&C Claims process or project work experience.
Demonstrated committment to self development (CPCU, SCLA, AIC, advanced degree etc).
Excellent communication and presentation skills in internal and external environments with various levels of leadership.
Ability to collaborate, multi-task and build strong working relationships with internal customers and external suppliers.
Proven ability to identify and anticipate critical business issues and to implement appropriate responses.
