Access Representative verifies patient demographics, insurance eligibility and benefit coverage for all patients admitted to the outpatient department. Ensures all required registration documentation is obtained and recorded into facility computer system. Generates registration documentation. Interprets, identifies, communicates and documents patient financial responsibility for payment of services rendered. Answers internal and external inquiries and supports communication needs. Responsible for maintenance of medical record for period of patient's treatment. Performs other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent experience.
Minimum Qualifications: Minimum one year in a business office or a health care setting. Knowledge of medical terminology. Recent completion of medical office training program acceptable in lieu of experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Prefer minimum 1 year experience in physician or hospital admitting and billing. Bilingual ability preferred.
